We hear all the time about oxidative stress and the impact on health. What options do you use for looking at a child’s level of oxidative stress?

When elevated, how do you approach identifying the causative factors and what treatment options do you consider?

    Thanks,
    Scott

      Scott,
The things we talk about in this course are exactly what I do. Oxidative stress is a definitely a problem, but multifactorial. Foods sensitivity, chronic infections, methylation imbalances, oxalate toxicity, etc. are all causative factors. There are other things too such as immune deficiency, chronic viral problems, and heavy metals which can cause problems too for some kids. Oxidative stress is usually not just from one thing. My approach is implementing the 4 pillars and then using additional things like glutathione, NAC, Reservatrol, Curcumin, and other nutrients as well.

      Sincerely,
      Dr. Woeller

That is helpful, but is there a way to measure a person’s level of oxidative stress to see if they are improving if a problem to begin with? Thanks

        Scott,
The oxidative stress profile from Genova is good overall. There is a urine and blood component looking at lipid peroxide, DNA oxidation markers, and glutathione.

        Genova – https://www.gdx.net/product/oxidative-stress-2-test-urine

This can be used as a baseline test and then follow-up testing overtime.
