My wife who is a herbalist has told me that it contaminated with something like triclosan and that is how it gets the antimicrobial activity. HOWEVER, I haven’t been able to find anything about this, I’ve questioned the IFM and others in the field and no one in the MD or Functional Med community has been able to verify this. So I’m not sure if its just something anecdotally or there is actually data on it. I’d love to have hard data and not just ‘expert opinion” on this one.
