You mentioned Copper and Zinc profile for copper toxicity. Which lab is that from? What do you do when it is high?

I have heard that high copper in the hair may not represent copper toxicity but that one may still be copper deficient and this may indicate that copper is being thrown off due to infection. Do you agree?

    Thanks in advance.

I use the Copper and Zinc Profile from Great Plains Laboratory. Normally, either the free copper is high and/or the zinc is low. Generally, using additional zinc seems to help. The problem is determining clinical benefit versus many of the other supplements being used. I can see it high, but I can never say exactly what is happening when we start supplementing against it.

I agree about the hair copper. In fact, I have seen this exact same thing where the hair copper was high, but the serum copper was low.
