Hi Dr Woeller,
How can we explain the presence of normal (high normal) levels of arabinose on the OAT and yet the presence of urinary peptides indicating leaky gut? In other words, are there other causes of leaky gut (that is, other than invasive Candida)?
Thanks,
Riham
Riham,
I discussed this last night in the QA. Good question.
The Arabinose is evidence of candida being invasive, but that doesn’t me its the only cause of leaky gut or that it could cause peptides to be high. Inflammation, bacterial toxins, chemical toxins, celiac disease damage, autoimmune reactions and other things can lead to leaky gut too. Even small intestine bacteria overgrowth (SIBO) and H. pylori can lead to leaky gut.
Thanks Dr Woeller!
Sorry if this was a redundant question. I was online during last night’s Q & A, but I accidentally slept in the middle because it was 3 am local time in Cairo 😊
Thanks again:)
