I am caring for a 2-year-old boy with autism, his OAT showed high HPHPA-557, aspergillosis- 27, Arabinose- 36, glyceric- 16, oxalic- 274, malic- 5.4, 3 hydroxybutyric- 753, acetoacetic- 577, vitamin B2- 3.1, Vitamin C- 1.2, 2 hydroxybutyric- 5.7, 4 hydroxybutyric- 5.1.
Stool test: 4+ proteus and 3+ pseudomonas aeruginosa, no lactobacillus in stool.
Mycotoxins: Citrin- 178, mycophenolic acid- 223.Initially He was on probiotics, given away from the biocidin, b complex, magnesium and calcium, fish oil and spectrum mate from NBUS. When he first started the Biocidin, initially, he had fever x 3 days and then subsided, also advised mom to add in olive leaf extract and oreganol. mom just updated me that 3 weeks later, he is still bloated and is now stimming and more hyper than he used to be, is this normal? what else do I need to do? do I need to take anything away?
Thank you for your help.
March 7, 2024 at 10:33 am #1739This child’s HPHPA is very high. It’s complicated by the gut colonization of aspergillus, and candida overgrowth and mucosal invasiveness (high arabinose). One of the roadblocks to getting things improved in the digestive system is constipation. So, if this child is constipated, the introducing some laxative therapy can be helpful. This may require the parent to do periodic child’s enema or suppository.
I like the addition of the oregano and olive leaf extract, and along with Biocidin should help with the HPHPA. If this were my patient, right now I would cut out the fish oil primarily because there may be some fat maldigestion problems doing on. From NBNUS, I would add the following:
• GI Detox – https://www.nbnus.net/products/606-gi-detox-60-caps/ – one capsule twice daily after from supplements by at least 90 minutes. This helps to bind up microbial compounds that generate gas and bloating.
• Intesti-mate – https://www.nbnus.net/products/541-intesti-mate-703-oz/ – ¼ scoop twice daily. Could use along with GI Detox for ease of dosing.I am not sure how long you have been treating for gut microbes, but if longer than 6 weeks, I would repeat a microbial organic acids test (mOAT) to recheck the HPHPA.
In this case, I would be tempted to try a small amount of Nystatin (100,000 units) three times daily to try and bring the candida down some. This too can help with bloating.

March 8, 2024 at 1:05 pm #1741Thank you Dr. Woeller,
your response is very helpful. It’s been about 4 weeks with treatment of gut microbes, Ill repeat OAT in 2 weeks.
For a med like nystatin thats typically prescribed, how would you handle it for an overseas patient? he is in the UK.
If the repeat MOAT comes back with elevated HPHPA, how much longer would i continue biocidin, oreganol and olive leaf extract?March 8, 2024 at 2:41 pm #17421) Yes on the repeat of the OAT
2) If you are comfortable doing that for them, I would personally the Rx to Hopewell Pharmacy in New Jersey – https://hopewellrx.com or Wellness Pharmacy in Alabama – http://wellnesspharmacy.com. They both ship internationally.
3) I believe you just recently added in the Oreganol and Olive Leaf extract if I am not mistaken? If it is still high, then I would personally continue all for another 6 weeks, and add a spore-based probiotic such as CoreBiotic from Researched Nutritonals. New Beginnings Nutritionals – https://nbnus.com carries. Two nightly before bed.Dr. Woeller

As I outline in the Autism Mastery Course, the four pillars are an essential place to start. The first pillar is dietary intervention which minimally includes a gluten and casein-free diet, but better if the diet is more inclusive to include only organic, GMO-free, and real-food. A new book by Julie Matthews, MS is highly recommended – https://www.amazon.com/Personalized-Autism-Nutrition-Plan-Neurodevelopmental/dp/1637746113.
The second pillar involves foundational nutrients. There are many options, but a good overall package comes from New Beginnings Nutritionals:
-Starter Package – https://www.nbnus.net/products/804-spectrum-mate-nutritional-starter-package-powder-original/
The third pillar is foundational laboratory testing. There are many options to consider, and as time goes on there will be other things to evaluate. I recommend starting with the following. These come from Mosaic Diagnostics Laboratory:
-Organic Acids Test (urine) – https://mosaicdx.com/test/organic-acids-test/
-Food IgG MAP (finger prick/dried blood spot) – https://mosaicdx.com/test/igg-food-map/
-Hair Metals Test – https://mosaicdx.com/functional-assessment/toxins/
-Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (GI 360) – https://mosaicdx.com/test/comprehensive-stool-analysis/.The fourth pillar is methylation support, but this can wait.
I am available for one-on-one consultation through my private practice. For more information about consulting with me privately you can email SCMedicalCenter@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Dr. Woeller -
