      Hello Dr. Woeller,
I have a client that appears to be a candidate for BH4: low HVA, VMA, seretonin, CFD (on active folate and B12 infections per Dr. Frye), Arginine (for high ammonia). OAT shows high normal elevation of phenylpyruvate. Also on an AA: low normal levels of methionine, cystine, taurine and low levels of tryptophan and tyrosine.

I can’t seem to find the product BH4 as mentioned by Ecological formulas. I did find the pteridin-4 which appears to offer similar results but is quite costly. What are your thoughts on other foods such as Royal Jelly (barring a bee allergy) to help boost levels?

      Much appreciated,
      Lynn

        Lynn,
There is also the prescription medication called Kuvan which is used for PKU.

The Ecological Formulas product seems to go in and out of availability. Yasko promotes Royal Jelly and a product from her site called MTHFR A1298C.

Straight BH4 will be best, but always not an option so I would suggest the supplement options.

Do you have a link to the Pteridin-4?

        Dr. Woeller
