    Hi Dr. Woeller,
Do you use Oxytocin? I have used the sublingual form in adult patients (not autistic) to reduce social anxiety, some have a good response, some don’t notice anything. I have read and heard that it may improve social connection in children with autism. I believe the typical recommendation is for a nasal spray but I think that is quite uncomfortable. Our local compounding pharmacist compounds the sublingual troche in dark chocolate which makes it taste pretty good. What is your thoughts on this? Thank you

      Janneme,
Would love the dark chocolate trouche option. I agree with you that the nasal spray in kids is not the best option. I prefer the sublingual too. I think the sublingual provides a more consistent dosing. I like Oxytocin for special needs kids. It’s not universally helpful for all, but some parents definitely see positive social improvements in their children with it.

      Sincerely,
      Dr. Woeller
