1. For children under 13 years, what allowances need to be taken, if the test is valid for over 13 years
2. On occasion, patients may be on SSRI. What allowances need to be taken for these markers? SSRI difficult to just stop, but how many days should they be stopped before doing the OATS test for neurotransmitter metabolites?

1 – the test is valid for those greater than 13 and less than 13. They already have established reference ranges for these groups, including male and female too.
2 – I wouldn’t suggest stopping their SSRI, just like I don’t stop any Tryptophan or 5-HTP supplementation. I want to see what the levels are like while on these supplements. Also, I don’t know of a specific time frame because every ones metabolism is a bit different.
