    Dr. Woeller,

Have you ever tested children for Lyme and co-infections at some point during treatment if things aren’t progressing well? I live in an endemic area and it is alarming to me that so many people don’t even realize they or their children have been bitten by a tick because you don’t always see the bullseye rash or have symptoms; only to find out years later they are infected.

      Kim,
Yes, I have. It is not a primary test I perform, but would certainly consider it for anyone coming from an endemic area, or who are not progressing My practice pulls people from around the world so Lyme is variable, even though there are groups that push information that all kids with autism are Lyme infected.
