There are many health benifits to Whey including all the immunomodulation effects of the immunoglobulins, ect. Do you know the cross reactivity to pure whey protein (a good source, cold processsed)? The IgG4 testing I’ve seen doesn’t include whey and I’m wondering if my patients (including myself) could use whey if they have + cow mild IgG4 testing.

    Thanks

      Dr. Hartman,
From my experience, and from what I have learned about IgG testing, I wouldn’t solely rely on IgG4 as a determinate for food sensitivity. I agree with you on the benefits of Whey though. If the reaction is mild than it likely is fine. Even on Total IgG testing if the reaction is mild to foods I let people continue eating that food unless they know of some type of problem, i.e. headache, stomach ache.
