I have a patient with the above who also has low methionione levels. I’ve been supplimenting with SAMe but was wondering if adding in TMG or DMG would be preferrred. Would TMG be better since it would pull metaboites away from the CBS route or would DMG be preferred since she have methylB12 issues and I don’t want to deplete the homocysteine any more than it already is.

    Thanks

      Dr. Hartman,
I think this is the same person you have referenced in the other posts? In one of my previous answers I mentioned avoiding DMG, but I meant to say TMG, aka. Betaine HCL.

It is obviously a balancing act between all of these pathways, but in this situation I would personally use DMG.

Yes, I’m referring to the same person.
      Thanks

Okay. Thanks. I thought so. DMG would be a better choice.
