    Dr Woeller,

If a child with ASD got appendicitis would you suspect there would be inflammation in other parts of the GI tract? If so, which one? Mainly the colon?

    Thanks,

Likely more the last part of the small intestine (Ileum) and the first part of the large bowel just beyond the Ileocecal Valve. However, this is not 100% guaranteed as the inflammation could just be isolated to the appendix.

      Sincerely,
      Dr. Woeller
