    Dr Woeller,
If a child did not respond to newbegining L carnitine 250 mgbid, is it worth trial of prescription strength levocarnitine.
I read in multiple places prescriptions helps better than the over the counter in some kids.
Also is it true prescription strength levocarnitine helps with ADD as it gives much energy to brain?
Dr Rossingal speaks for action of levocarnitine and Folinic acid together.
    Wanted to know your opinion.
    Thank you!

      Aida,
It’s true a response may be different from a prescription versus supplement. The two forms are fairly similar though, but the only way to know for sure is try it. In my experience, it doesn’t hurt to try.

L-Carnitine can help with ADD and ADHD too.

      Dr. Woeller
