    Dear Dr. Woeller,

    This OAT test is for my cousin who is 28 year old, lives in NJ, he’s a medical student, very healthy life style, and he’s an advanced bodybuilder.

    Over the last year, He had vague symptoms of fatigue. Blood work showed abnormal kidney functions, abnormal liver functions with low testosterone. Wilson disease was originally diagnosed, but on liver biopsy, there was no proof of Wilson. He was seen by multiple specialists, with no definite diagnosis or any specific treatment.

    We did the OAT, Glyphosate & GPL-TOX tests. Please find attached the OAT test with my comments/interpretation/questions in a separate report.

    I would appreciate your opinion.

    Thank You

      Dr. Mansoor,

      Based on the report you provided, here are my answers to your questions:

      1 – ProBiotic Support Formula – two capsules nightly.
      2 – Hydroxy-B12. New Beginnings Nutritionals carries a sublingual B12 called Perque Activated B12 – one sublingual tablet daily.

      The yeast levels as you mentioned are not that high. The Biocidin should also help with the elevated 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid.

      The mitochondria sections overall look fairly good, as well as the neurotransmitters. Uracil is slightly high so L-methyl-folate supplementation is worthwhile.

      Nutrient levels are not too out of balance. Marker #72 can be linked to a tyrosine amino acid imbalance, but the level is just mildly high. Mandelic is often linked to plastic and Styrofoam exposure/. Again, the level is mildly high.

      I think the glyphosate and GPL-TOX are worthwhile evaluations to have done.

      Sincerely,
      Dr. Woeller

      Dear Dr. woeller,

      Thanks a lot for your comments. We did the GPL-TOX & Glyphosate. Please find them attached. My comments are:

      * Glyphosate is negative/normal?
      * GPL-TOX/marker 1 (2HIB) >95% = almost always elevated?
      * GPL-TOX/marker 8 (DPP) >75% = interpretation? application?
      * GPL-TOX/marker 10 (NAPR) >75% = interpretation? application?
      * GPL-TOX/marker 18 (TG) >75% = CoQ10 can be helpful here?

      This is my opinion based on what I learned from the course. However, this is my 1st TOX/GLY tests. So, I am kind of lost here. So, Do you see any actions or suggestions based on these results.

      Thanks

      Ehab Mansoor, MD

        Dr. Mansoor,
        Great job. I agree with you.

        The MTBE is significant because of its elevation. I think minimally this person should look to use a home water filtration system or at least something off the kitchen faucet for drinking and cooking. Also, they can reduce their exposure by drinking filtered water at work as well. The DPP, NAPR, etc. are fairly standard, but not excessively high and should be eliminated/reduced by water filtration.

        The Tiglyglycine is higher than I like to see it. CoQ10 is an excellent idea, but I would also do some antioxidants and glutathione.

        New Beginnings has the Antioxidant Formula (three daily) – https://www.nbnus.net/products/89-antioxidant-formula-180-capsules/ and Lipoceutical Glutathione (1/2 tablespoon daily, approximately) – https://www.nbnus.net/products/224-lipoceutical-glutathione-4fl-oz/

        I hope this helps.

          Dear Dr. Woeller. I wanna ask you a question about an issue with a lab test with GPL. This is not a medical question. It’s an administrative problem. I know that you are not really affiliated with GPL. I just think with your long experience with them you might be able to tell me what to do.

          I just ordered OAT for one of my patients. The family paid for the test directly to GPL. When I got the result back. I realised that the results are for Amino acid in urine not the Organic acid test (OAT). I am not sure if this was my mistake in ordering the test or it was the lab’s mistake. Do you have any recommendation on whom to talk to/email in GPL to address this problem?

          Thanks a lot

            Ehab,
            The best thing to do is contact Customer Service directly and ask for a lab representative to look into the situation for you.

            You can also contact directly Matt Pratt, Ph.D. who oversees the lab at MPratt-Hyatt@gpl4u.com. It may be that your patient mistakenly checked off the Amino Acid box on the requisition form.

            Sincerely,
            Dr. Woeller

            Thanks a lot Dr. Woeller, I already spoke to CS representative. She is trying to help me. I will definitely send an email to Matt Pratt, Ph.D. to see what we can do.

              Ehab,
              Okay. Matt should be able to help. All they need to do is pull up the paperwork that was submitted with the test kit and see what was checked off.

              Dr. Woeller
